Job Summary:
The IT Systems Engineer is a vital member of our IT team, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise with a strategic outlook, helping to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems. Key Responsibilities:
• Infrastructure Design: Plan and design robust and scalable IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• System Implementation: Lead the implementation and configuration of hardware, software, and networking components, and ensure smooth integration with existing systems.
• Maintenance and Upkeep: Manage and maintain server systems, storage, and network components to ensure high availability and performance.
• Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and data protection measures, and stay updated on security threats and best practices.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and minimize downtime.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support for escalated IT issues, collaborating with other IT teams and external vendors to resolve complex problems.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures, and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Testing and Optimization: Conduct system performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitoring and Alerts: Implement monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and respond to alerts, ensuring system health and availability.
• User Training: Provide training and guidance to end-users and assist in enhancing IT literacy within the organization.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT systems engineering, with a strong understanding of system design and implementation.
• Proficiency in operating systems, virtualization, storage systems, and networking technologies.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards, including familiarity with relevant regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or similar are a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
