We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Color Specialist to join our team in the textiles industry. As a Color Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our textile products by expertly selecting and creating color palettes that are visually appealing and on-trend. You will collaborate closely with our design and production teams to ensure that our products meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of color harmonization and aesthetic appeal.
The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for color and a deep understanding of how different hues, shades, and tones can evoke specific emotions or perceptions. In addition to a strong sense of color, you should also possess excellent artistic and design skills and be comfortable using computer software and programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite and color management tools. Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously are also essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate a deep understanding of color theory and its application in textile design
Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and develop color palettes for new textile products
Conduct extensive research on color trends and create mood boards to inform color choices
Test and evaluate color samples, ensuring they meet quality and consistency standards
Communicate and coordinate with suppliers to source and develop new color materials and finishes
Work closely with production teams to maintain color accuracy throughout the manufacturing process
Provide guidance and support to ensure that color specifications are followed by all relevant stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fine Arts, or a related field
Proven experience as a Color Specialist or a similar role in the textile industry
Proficiency in using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
Strong understanding of color theory and its application in textile design
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
